Publish to Calendar feature allows you to publish your routine tasks to Calendar app. This allows you to have a calendar view of your routine tasks, together with your other appointments and events.

Turn on Publish to Calendar

Publish to Calendar options is available from the Settings tab. The option screen will display the list of available calendars from the Calendar app. Tap to select the calendar to publish the tasks. And you can selectively publish your Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly tasks.

Select Calendar

We recommend publishing your tasks to a new calendar specifically for your routines tasks, for example a calendar named "Routines". This will make it easy for you to tailor your view and grouping from Calendar app.

You can't create a new calendar from within Routines app. You can create a new calendar using the Calendar app if you're running iOS 5 and above. If not, you have to create from iCal on your desktop and sync the new calendar via iTunes.

You are able to publish Routines tasks to one calendar only. When you tap to switch to a new calendar, all published tasks on the Calendar app will be deleted.

One-way Publishing

Publish to Calendar is a one-way publishing feature. When you turned on publish to calendar such as for Weekly tasks, all existing Weekly tasks will be added to the Calendar app. When a new task is added to Weekly, a new event is published to the Calendar app. Editing a published task (for example the date) from within Routines app will change the event on the Calendar app accordingly. However any changes to the task from within Calendar app will not be propagated back.

Similarly, deleting a published task from within Routines app will delete the task on the Calendar app. However deleting the event on the Calendar app will not also delete the task in Routines app.

Alerts

Alerts for task are not published to the Calendar app. If you prefer the alerts by the Calendar app, you can add the alerts from within Calendar app. As it is a one-way publishing, this will not affect anything on the Routines app. If you have also setup alerts for the task from within Routines app, then you will receive notifications from both the Calendar app and Routines app.

Some Limitation

For Monthly checklist, tasks with the Day set to "Last Day" or "Day 31" are not published to the Calendar app. This is due to some compatibility issue which we are working to resolve with future iOS updates.

If you have a long list of tasks in your checklist, please be patient when turning on this feature. It might take awhile for Routines app to complete the publishing of tasks to the Calendar app.
